AMB. MARIA FE T. PANGILINAN PRESENTS HER CREDENTIALS AS NON-RESIDENT AMBASSADOR TO SERBIA

Ambassador Maria Fe T. Pangilinan presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Serbia H.E. Aleksandar Vučić as non-resident Ambassador of the Philippines to Serbia on 25 June 2019.

Fifteen other non-resident Ambassadors from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East also respectively presented their credentials at a combined ceremony held at the Presidential palace.

A meeting between President Vučić and Amb. Pangilinan followed wherein both parties expressed their mutual desire to improve and expand bilateral relations and cooperation, particularly in the fields of economics and sports. Philippine company Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc. (IMI) recently opened its factory in Niš. Both Filipinos and Serbians are basketball enthusiasts.

 

President Vučić extended his salutations to President Rodrigo Duterte with whom he has previously met in China during the One Belt, One Road presentation. President Vučić remarked that he was impressed by President Duterte who spoke like a true and strong leader.

After her presentation of credentials, Amb. Pangilinan called on officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss matters of mutual interest and to explore new avenues for cooperation.

To mark the auspicious occasion, Amb. Pangilinan celebrated with the Filipino community in Serbia with a merienda cena organized by Philippine Honorary Consul Dragijana Petrović.
