On arrival: Visitors are allowed to bring with them customs free personal belongings, two packets of cigarettes and up to one liter of alcohol.

You can cash an unlimited amount of foreign currency. On departure: you are obliged to have a certificate of the National museum for any antiquity obtained during your stay. You cannot take out more than PhP 5,000.00 (five thousand Philippine pesos) out of the country.

NATIONAL CURRENCY

The national currency of the Philippines is Peso (PHP) and Centavo. 100 centavos = P1. The national currency is in coins of: 1, 5, 10 and 25 centavos, P1 and P5. Banknotes are in the value of 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1 000 Pesos.

Foreign currency can be exchanged in your hotel and in majority of big department stores, banks and authorized exchange offices. Exchanging money in other places is illegal and legal regulations are strictly applied.

The majority of big shops, restaurants and hotels and holiday resorts accept the most common credit cards, including American Express, Visa and Master Card. American Express Traveler’s cheques are accepted in hotels and big department stores. The personal examination to foreign banks is not generally accepted.
